Yee-haw y’all! Folk Of The Wood‘s Hoedown Ceilidh at SE27’s Portico Gallery is Friday 15th April! We’re welcoming legendary banjo & appalachian dance maestro Stompin’ Dave Allen – “One of the world’s greatest performers” – Maverick Magazine / “A masterof all kinds of American roots” – TheTelegraph. As this will be the last Portico ceilidh before we break for the summer, we’re aiming to go out in style! Hosts Ceilidh Tree and caller Chris Faulkner will be playing the swellest old time, bluegrass and Appalachian fiddle tunes for dancing and we’ll be debuting some dances from the line and square dance traditions so dust off the gingham and cowboy boots – prizes for best dressed wild west!
There’ll be bourbon, scrumpy and ales at the bar, chowder and pulled pork at the grill courtesy of Beamish & McGlue.
