“ErictheFred” – Back at the Portico!

Join us for a fabulous evening of theatre with Chris Lynam!…
ErictheFred , an intriguing story of a trouper grappling with a fading career. Flickering thoughts and projected dreams blur the lines between the real and ethereal. Original film, music, puppetry, clowning create an unnervingly familiar world of slapstick, tragedy and joy.

Chris Lynam, a clown for many years, has appeared at the world’s top comedy festivals, and tours regularly with Slava’s Snow Show.

An informal, friendly and supportive group, welcoming beginners, novices and advanced artists alike.  Sessions involve differing projects, in which the group has fun working collaboratively, sharing contributions on poses, lighting, materials, and general creative expression.

Instruction is offered for those who would like it, and constructive group discussion about work occurs throughout the evening. Typically, poses are structured to provide opportunity to develop different artistic approaches as well as skills, including both short and long poses.  A range of diverse life-models, are sought for the sessions, in order to provide a wide range of body types.

Easels, drawing boards and clips are provided; paper (A1/A2), pencils, erasers, and charcoal can also be purchased at low prices.  Participants are also encouraged to bring their own materials, which promotes maximum enjoyment of the sessions and cultivates one’s personal artistic path.

Charity Auction
As part of the Lambeth Open event at Portico we will be holding a charity auction.  We have invited a variety of local artists to produce a small artwork for sale in the auction to try and raise in excess of £800 for our local Mental Health Charity, Southside Rehabilitation Association (SRA).

Members of the public can bid for and buy a canvas(ses) of their choice and all proceeds will go to SRA.

As a continuum of inter-community support, SRA will be offering some of the funds raised from the auction towards our up-coming SHOWN/UNSHOWN exhibition.

SHOWN/UNSHOWN – will run from Fri 9th-Fri 16th October and will exhibit work produced by members of the community for their own therapeutic and personal artistic expression.
