Sylvia’s works evolve around themes of female identity, sexuality and continue to investigate portrayal of the figure and face. Sylvia is primarily focused on practice of painting and drawing where she applies both traditional and innovative techniques. Her work is influenced by several artists, including Louise Bourgeois, Marlene Dumas and Egon Schiele.
Sylvia Batycka (b. Kraków) lives and works in London. She is currently represented by Saatchi Art and Art in Offices. In 2013 Sylvia was shortlisted for the British Women Artist’s prize. Her work can be found in both private and public collections, including Lambeth Council’s Collection. She has also exhibited in group exhibitions at The Brix (2013,2011,2010).
