This invitation is for all of you who would like an interactive sensory experience that might inspire you and heal you.
Not only to SEE but to LISTEN to the voice of the elders, who bless you and share their stories with you. Straight to the heart to FEEL and activate the wisdom of your own Ancestors. Balance your body with the SCENT of the 4 Elements: Fire, Earth, Wind and Water. The design of this invitation is done by my daughter Michele<https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=640343091>, who since she was a little girl, has supported me in all my art ventures and exhibitions. Portico Gallery is the ideal place to gather the community and to share this experience. Check the programme, and please join us to raise and expand the vibration of the heart to benefit everyone and to inspire new generations to value the wisdom of their own Ancestors.[cid:image001.jpg@01D1D775.2B58A430]
ANCESTRAL DANCEBEAT – A short film by Katiushka Borges
An engaging sensory body experience where the heart beats at the rhythm of the drum (Huehuetl) and with the sound of the rattles (Ayacastli) made by every movement of the dancers. Connect with ‘The Signature’, which precedes every dance, a way of asking permission to the essences of the place, and the movements represent Fire, Air, Water and Earth (contain in our bodies).
“ANCESTRAL DANCEBEAT connects us with life and its cycles and the power of the Universe through Mexihca Dance. A Pre-Hispanic dance which expresses the wisdom of the elders, and their oral tradition, body and movement, heart and mind, in harmony with MOTHER EARTH, the four directions and the four elements”.
This video is part of the Interactive Sensory Installation ANCESTRAL HEARTBEAT, an art residency awarded to the artist by Mexican Government from October 2015 to March 2016 and hosted by RAXALAJ, Centre of Mayan Art and Philosophy, Carrillo Puerto, Mexico.
