Charity Auction
As part of the Lambeth Open event at Portico we will be holding a charity auction.  We have invited a variety of local artists to produce a small artwork for sale in the auction to try and raise in excess of £800 for our local Mental Health Charity, Southside Rehabilitation Association (SRA).

Members of the public can bid for and buy a canvas(ses) of their choice and all proceeds will go to SRA.

As a continuum of inter-community support, SRA will be offering some of the funds raised from the auction towards our up-coming SHOWN/UNSHOWN exhibition.

SHOWN/UNSHOWN – will run from Fri 9th-Fri 16th October and will exhibit work produced by members of the community for their own therapeutic and personal artistic expression.

For more details of any of the above information, please contact
The Portico Gallery on 0208 761 7612 or email us at: info@porticogallery.org.uk

Sophie postcard 3Sophie postcard 2

Sophie Hill, an Art Gallery project manager and founder and writer of POSTCARDWALL has been collecting exhibition postcards for ten years and her reasons for including the cards in her collection accompany each one.

The reasons are as fascinating as the cards themselves. Visitors will be able to pause for a moment of contemplation and inspiration at one or many postcards. Sophie grew up just down the road from The Portico Gallery. This exhibition marks an important journey for the postcards, symbolising the collection coming home.

Private view: The private view of Postcards at Portico on Friday March 6th, 6 – 9pm will celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Postcard. With all 365 postcards on exhibition for the first time, this event will mark the exciting year to come for POSTCARDWALL and its collection. On the 65th postcard of the postcard-a-day campaign, please join us to raise a glass just up the road from where it all began.

* Exhibition open Tues to Thurs 10am – 4pm, during events or by appointment.  Contact us to ensure the gallery is manned at the time you want to visit – 0208 761 7612.
