The Sewing Circle
For details of subsequent courses please email Angela on email@example.com
The Sewing Circle is a very relaxed and sociable affair, open to complete beginners and those more experienced with the needle! Participants are free to work on their own project, or be guided through a project appropriate to level and ability. Focus will be on developing foundational skills of sewing and pattern alteration, with plenty of inspirational stimulus thrown in! Students have made all sorts of items, from bags, skirts and dresses to window blinds, curtains and cushion covers. Coffee and cake, tea and biscuits, fruit and great conversation, all are in abundance throughout the evening, so come on down and join the circle!
A sewing machine, equipment and a whole array of embroidery and appliqué are available at the gallery, and students are also encouraged to bring their own machine and become familiar with it. The machine can be stored at the gallery for convenience.
The Sewing Circle is held every Thursday, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, at The Portico Gallery.

The Sewing Circle is run by Angela, a graduate from Central St. Martins, with a passion for fashion, spanning the last twenty years. Currently working at the London University of Arts, Angela loves to impart her knowledge, craft, and general love of all things textile-related! Wishing to de-mystify sewing and bring fashion crafts to the hands of those who feel inspired to create unique and individualised, hand-made items, Angela extends a warm invite to the circle!
