On 11th July 7:30-9:30pm we hosted some Creative Movement Workshops. Here are some details from Victoria Thompson, the class tutor.
Everybody is invited
These monthly guided movement workshops are friendly and relaxed and open to anyone with an inclination to explore and deepen awareness of their creative moving body.
Relaxing and Being
Beginning with relaxation, we calm the nervous system and take time to turn our attention inwards, tuning into the tiny movements and shifting sensations within the body. Giving ourselves permission to be in our body, just exactly as it is, opens up our potential for moving and being.
Finding Movements that Feel Good From here, I lead you towards rediscovering for yourself, ways of moving that feel juicy and nourishing, inviting the blood to flow, the breath to move and awakening the senses.
I offer to guide people to be able to offer and receive gentle touch to enhance sensation and relaxation in places of tension such as the back, shoulders and neck. We move towards feeling more relaxed, released, open and flowing in our movements.
Space to Move
The Portico Gallery Studio is clean, spacious, gently lit and welcoming with mats and rugs for relaxing. (wear loose warm clothing).
