The workshops are run by professional, working singer and voice coach Abigail Sudbury
”I am a professional Classical singer, trained by the English National Opera and the Royal Northern College of Music where I gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Vocal and Opera Studies. I also hold a Masters Degree in Singing from Goldsmiths and a Diploma in Concert Singing from the University of London. I have been teaching singing for 6 years, and now run a successful private practice covering West Norwood, Crystal Palace and Dulwich. Many of my students are established singers, many are complete beginners.
My professional career encompasses 450 years of musical styles, I specialise in English Song and am in demand as a Recitalist. In Opera, I have worked with companies such as Opera Holland Park, English Touring Opera, Mid Wales Opera and Clonter Opera. I also work within the education/outreach departments of Orchestras, such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata. I have worked as a Nurse for 10 years and am now able to marry singing with care by running singing groups for people with dementia and their carers, working with English Touring Opera and Dulwich Picture Gallery in their Song writing project for Alzheimers and by working with the Joy of Sound, an inclusive music making group for all abilities.”
“Singing has so many benefits and we can all do it. Even those who think they may be ‘tone deaf’ can learn to overcome this belief and use their voices. Some of the benefits include healthier breathing, a more connected speaking voice, and an increased self-awareness.”
